cross process

Even with the best quality digital cameras people still pine for a more tactile, ephemeral quality to photographs. More and more we are seeing the use of filters, ‘vintage’ lens and camera applications all in a bid to try and regain a ‘lost quality’ to photographs.

This practice can be best described as a modern version of ‘cross processing’, a technique whereby a film negative is deliberately developed using the wrong chemical process resulting a wide range of unique and unpredictable results: This book is a celebration of those filters and applications.
